If you’ve never been, the annual Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is a must! Though we weren’t able to enjoy it this year, due to a weather related cancellation, we highly recommend everyone experience and enjoy this yearly event. You won’t be disappointed!
The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is only one of the many annual fall events Boise offers. You’ll be hard pressed to divide your time among corn mazes, fall festivals, pumpkin patches, football, and more!
Speaking of football…
Boise State Football
The Broncos are one of the few teams that have a decent shot at going undefeated this year. So far, it’s looking good with a current 3-0 record. [fact check recent game] Boise State home games are always a spectacle, and this month we have a few great matches at Albertson’s Stadium.
BSU vs Utah State Aggies – October 1, 2016
This matchup, which will be featured on ESPN 2, is where we gain our redemption. Historically, BSU has stayed well ahead of Utah State, only losing one game to the Aggies since 1998. Unfortunately, that game was last year and BSU lost by a wide margin. We need to prove it was a fluke.
BSU vs Colorado State Rams – October 15, 2016
The Rams should be a great opponent for the Bronco’s to try out some new stuff and stretch their legs a bit. As long as Boise State doesn’t do anything foolish, they are unlikely to lose this matchup.
BSU vs BYU Cougars – October 20, 2016
The Broncos and the Cougars are both great teams that are often underestimated. The nation’s two great underdogs each have a lot of local fans, and this has been suggested to be one of the best matchups this year in college ball. After Tanner Magnum led an incredible comeback last year to help BYU get the win, Boise State will be looking to make an impression.
In order to prove civilization hasn’t weakened our adventurous spirit, we occasionally have to do things that would leave the aliens scratching their heads, asking, “Why?”
One way to demonstrate that we’re not above getting our hands (and the rest of us) dirty is by competing in a mud run. An endurance event that completely ignores our beautifully manicured greenbelt and instead, opts for a mud-covered run.
While the goal of the Dirty Dash (in Boise October 8) is to raise money for charity, I think the main objective is to get as dirty as possible. Or at least that’s what we do. Either way, you have a muddy-fun (see what I did there!) time and you raise money for a great cause. It’s a win-win!
Spooktacular at Zoo Boise
Our Boise zoo offers great opportunities for family activities and education. Every year, we look forward to the fun events Zoo Boise puts on for Halloween, and this year’s Spooktacular event is no exception!
Following their mantra of “merry-not-scary”, Zoo Boise will feature a variety of displays, activities. Including: a blacklight dance, magic, and an obstacle course. Due to popular demand, the Spooktacular will run for two weekends, during the evenings of October 14-16 and 21-23. You can find all the details on their page.

There is no shortage of things to do in Boise
Weather may have cancelled the hot air balloon take-offs, but fortunately, there are plenty of other opportunities for excitement here.
Many people might think of Boise as a relatively small town, but we at Modern Dental think our community is great the way it is.
