So, in an effort to reduce anxiety about visiting the dentist, we have a tip for you!
Take It One Step at a Time
There is one way we’ve found that eases fear, at least in our office. It sounds pretty simple, but it works. Here it is: schedule short appointments for one thing at a time. Quick and simple appointments, instead of one long one, makes a big difference. The process becomes easier when you take baby steps.
As the old adage says, inch by inch, it’s a cinch… If you are especially nervous about an upcoming appointment, let us know.
We’d love to see you even if it’s just for a short tour of our office. This gives us a chance to meet you and allows us to get to know one another. Just knowing there is a gentle and friendly face working on your smile is half the battle. From there, we can establish a treatment plan that is helpful and accommodating to you.
Most patients have concerns about the needles and the noise of dental drills. These two things seem to be the major anxiety inducing triggers. So, we’ve installed televisions on the ceilings and we offer headphones to each of our patients. You can watch TV or play music from your smartphone to distract yourself while you are in our care.
